Mentally strong like a Navy SEAL

September 12, 2012

This week was the start of my physical therapy program in the treadmill room at the transplant clinic.

1.5 hours 3 days a week.

I felt like an inner tube with the air let out.  All floppy with no tone.

I guess I don’t get to sit around and wait for a lung, the program is designed to  prepare the body for the transplant by getting me as fit and ready as possible.

Let’s hear it for 16 minutes on the treadmill at 1mph!!  Woot! Woot!

I am picking the mantra, “I am Strong” for my mental relaxation.  Inspired by all the kind thoughts that everyone has expressed on my blog.  It truly is a boost to have that type of support.  I’m overwhelmed with emotion from everyone’s encouragement.

I promise to be strong!

While we were in hospital this last weekend waiting for some tests results I took a walk with the ‘walker’ they had available on that floor.  I think it was left over from painter’s scaffolding.  It was very medieval.  This is my starting point!
